Non-GMO Project
In support of non-GMO farming methods, we partner with Non-GMO Project to verify the origin of the ingredients in our dental care offerings and Jojoba Oils. Non-GMO Project is a North American nonprofit organization dedicated to building and protecting a non-GMO food supply. When you see their seal of approval, you know that unbiased, rigorous and transparent non-GMO standards are met.
USDA Organic
We believe that organic farming supports our planet and personal well-being in a significant way, which is why we select USDA-certified organic ingredients wherever possible. Several of our products are certified organic. Many of our non-certified-organic ingredients are cultivated sustainably by caring farmers around the world.
B Corp
As a certified B Corporation, we believe that working for the benefit of people and our planet is an essential element of success. By meeting high standards of public transparency, legal accountability and social/environmental performance, we—along with our fellow B Corporations—create a world that works for everyone.
Leaping Bunny
We can proudly say that every product we make is certified cruelty-free through the Leaping Bunny Program, meaning no animal testing is involved in our finished products or ingredients. Leaping Bunny sets an internationally recognized, comprehensive standard for cruelty-free products, making compassion a simple and straightforward consumer choice.
RSPO
We are proud to use 100% RSPO-Certified Sustainably Harvested Palm Oil in our bar soaps. This certification assures that our suppliers follow a strict, comprehensive set of ethical standards around how they treat the environment, wildlife and workers. By choosing RSPO-certified Palm Oil, you’re supporting rich soil, plant and animal biodiversity, and fair wages.
No Artificial Dyes or Fragrances
When it comes to what we put on our bodies, we prefer to play it safe and keep it real. For this reason, you’ll find no artificial dyes or scents in your Desert Essence bottle—only natural plant colors and pure essential oils.
Made in the USA with Globally Sourced Ingredients
Investing in the country where we live and work is important to us. Although we source our botanical ingredients all around the world, we choose to manufacture every product we make right here in the United States.
Vegan
Most of our products are vegan. The ones that are not are 100% vegetarian, containing small amounts of Beeswax, Honey and Keratin. Gluten-Free
We know that common food allergens are a source of serious concern for many, so we’ve formulated most of our products to be gluten-free.
